Department of Sociology

The department of sociology is fully Committed to quality education for upliftment of students from backward class in rural area and to inculcate among them a sense of self discipline, moral values, and social responsibility with national integrity to make them responsible citizen.The department provides excellent teaching and learning environment with good infrastructure and to promote extracurricular and sport talents amongst students for their overall development.
The focus of the department is more on co-operative endeavours oriented towards the wellbeing of the group rather than the individual. We nurture a sociological imagination i.e., holistic, critical, and reflexive.
Students group discussions are conducted on various themes like caste, religion, intolerance, development, environment, gender equality, media democracy, peace, disability, tribal and children’s issues to make them think critically and bring about a positive change in their perspective towards these issues of social relevance and importance.Department also works on various issues from sociological perspective by celebrating and observing significant days like Jyotiba Phule Jayanti, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Jayanti, Blood Donation Camp etc.
