Resource Management is one of the important subjects in three year degree course of B.Sc. Home Science. The major objective is to train students to optimize the use of resources - human and material - to achieve family/ institutional goals and improve the quality of life of the families and communities. This subject helps the students to develop the skills and entrepreneurial abilities. It develops aesthetic sense among the students. It includes the knowledge of flower arrangement and floral decoration which is in demand from the point of entrepreneurship. It teaches students to experiment with space, preparing house plan, landscaping etc. They develop the ability to apply work simplification techniques. It also helps to develop ability to organise small events and exhibitions. It helps to sensitize the students about environment and create awareness and to develop competence among students to design work systems for productivity, reliability, and safety by using human and non-human resources. Besides, considerable attention is given to give enough input to students to develop communication skills, leadership skills, cooperative skills and skills in professional development in order to understand and foster continued competence and commitment.
