About Department
The department was established in 2010 under faculty of Home Science for under graduate. B.Sc. Home Science Textile and Clothing is three years degree course which is divided into six semesters. Various trends in fashion are taught under this department like clothing culture and history, fashion marketing, fashion design, etc. At UG level the basic information about the subject “Textile and Clothing” is given to the students, in which they study about the manufacturing process of natural and manmade fiber, process of making yarn, their qualities & interlacing process. They also study about the process of selection of fabric & various techniques of ornamenting them like dyeing, printing, textile designing, fabric construction & woven fabric analysis. Fashion designing, pattern making, grading, etc. are also part of the Syllabus.
